There was so much to see on our first day in Munich. We went on a bike tour after we checked in at the hostel.
We went through the English Garden, saw naked men, surfers, and my favorite we went to a beer garden.
I ordered a huge wheat beer and ate curry wurst with pommes frites. Yummy!
We were about to regroup to resume our bike tour after the beer garden and I informed Professor Farrand on some very insightful information. I told him if he said two words, and two words only, he would be the coolest professor at the University of South Carolina.
Those two words are "Turn Up" (adj.)-the action of turning up the volume of your life and behavior to a higher degree than you've ever experienced before. (Synonyms- get crunk, raise the roof, get crazy, get excited). You get the point.
More importantly, Farrand actually said it. I'm sure the dark beer encouraged him a little but he said "turn up"! I have video footage. But here is a photo of how happy he looks after saying those two words.
Best part of my day. Turn up.

21 University
of South Carolina, School of Journalism and Mass Communications students and two professors are spending two weeks in Munich and Berlin Germany, as part of a May class. The object is to learn about convergence journalism and develop multimedia stories and communication skills that extend beyond the classroom. During this three-week class students will interview, write, photograph and video Germans and discover how different media's role is in this country.
