We all know that Germans love their beer, but it wasn't until I spent a few days here that I realized the full extent of the culture that surrounds beer. Locals and travelers alike gather at Beer Gardens, or Biergartens, to socialize, talk about the day, and relax over the brew of their choice. One of the most popular types of beer is a Weizenbier, or wheat beer, which is a little lighter and easier to drink than the traditional lager or pilsners that are common. The most surprising thing surrounding the beer culture for me is the fact that it is completely acceptable to walk through the streets with your bottle of beer! In America, that is usually construed as an open container violation and warrants a hefty ticket, while in Germany it is as natural as carrying a bottle of water on your walk.
I like your style, Germany.
