Forgetting my blogger name and password was just one of my many mishaps during my first day in Berlin. Besides trying to read a map upside down, I also tried to take a 'free' pretzel at the beer garden that was not free at all. During our four hour bike trip we stopped at Scleusen Krug for some much needed refreshments. Our group soon learned the strength of a German beer. There were many varieties of beer that we had never even heard of such as our tour guides favorite raspberry beer. The food was amazing! I ordered a salad that could easily rival the size of the CheeseCake Factory's entree salads and a pizza. Big mistake! I now know that appetizer salads do not exist. While we enjoyed all of the food and drinks, riding the bikes home did not feel as good when the beer a pizza sloshed around!

of South Carolina, School of Journalism and Mass Communications students and two professors are spending two weeks in Munich and Berlin Germany, as part of a May class. The object is to learn about convergence journalism and develop multimedia stories and communication skills that extend beyond the classroom. During this three-week class students will interview, write, photograph and video Germans and discover how different media's role is in this country.USC Faculty
