Few people know that Germany is often called the Little Italy of Europe. Though traditional German food is popular in every region, Italian food is also a common dining option for locals and tourists alike. This is mainly because of the geographical proximity of Italy and Germany. I've had the chance to taste a variety of Italian dishes both here in Berlin and in Munich, but I would have to say my favorite meal so far is the mozzarella pizza I had today at a beer garden. The freshness of the ingredients here makes all the difference in the flavor of the food. I'm so glad I've gotten to taste delicious and authentic Italian food as well as German during my trip. And don't worry, my lunch today wasn't completely lacking in regional flavor. The Radler beer is 100 percent German.
