Hell Oder Dunkel

I found love in a German restaurant. A love of a place called Hell Oder Dunkel (dark over light in English). A great little brewery with an incredible staff and excellent food. The waitress at the restaurant was the most welcoming German we've met so far and explained everything we needed to know about their menu (apparently uncommon in Germany). Her recommendations turned out wonderfully and I had my first taste of shnitzle. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to try shnitzle, you're missing out. Imagine a pork chop in funnel cake, and you've got it. Of course or dinner was accompanied by a beer (because apparently everything is accompanied by a beer here), but also a special house brew given to us by our waitress. She stayed and talked with us about our time in Berlin and her own experiences in America. All in all, I know I'm going to miss this place when we leave, but so glad we found this gem.

Beer makes everything better. The Germans got it right!
